I acknowledge the coincidental similarities in the last verse to current events. As I say in the video, this song was written maybe two years ago. It would be dishonest to give myself too much credit because I really can’t remember what made me put those words down. But upon rediscovering this song in a notebook that I hadn’t picked up in a while, I was pretty stunned at the relevance of that last verse. It just felt right to share now, especially as the Israeli military gears up to bombard the last place of refuge for the Palestinian people in Rafah. I’m far from the most educated person on this subject, but I live in a body and possess a beating heart which I think gives me all the qualifications I need to say that the genocide of the Palestinian people by the government of Israel is abominable. If you’re unable to see that then you’re a propagandised, boot-licking troglodyte.
