The generation of players with this nickname is considered one of the best in the history of Real Madrid.

Its members were Butragueno, Sanchis, Michel, Martin Vazquez and Pardeza.

It was the journalist Julio Cesar Iglesias who came up with the nickname, in honour of Butragueno.

Butragueno ‘El Buitre’ (The Vulture) was the leader of these youth team players who erupted into the senior team.

La Quinta del Buitre became one of the most football references in the 1980s.

Despite their class, they never managed to win a European Cup (Champions League)
Sacchi’s Milan was their recurring nemesis.

Even so, they won five Spanish league titles and two UEFA Cup titles.
