The Nikon D600 is a game changer for the amateur market, the photographers that have been wanting to go full frame. Pricing a camera at such a place leaves the door open for more people to venture into the full frame world.

Not to long ago full frame was rarified air left for the pros who could afford cameras that were $3k plus. Now anyone anywhere can get into the full frame low light hogging DSLR.

Is this a good thing or does it mean more people getting full frame but putting kit lenses on it? We will leave this for a future discussion.

This camera is packed with some really cool features such as a 24 mp FX sensor, large 3.2 inch LCD, 2 SD slots and nice video and low light options.

Priced at $2099.95 that puts this camera $900 less than its bigger brother the D800. Is it worth it to save the money and go to the D800, only time may tell. But, if I was going full frame and had my choice of the two I would save the extra money and go with the PRO camera. The D600 is not a pro body, its more of a back up to a Pro camera if that.

I look forward to getting my hands on this bad boy to test it out.
