"Sounds of New Eurasia" is a multinational, collaborative piece which concertedly features, for the first time in history, Kazakh, Chinese, and European musical instruments. The piece has been specially written for the Beyond Boundaries - Beyond Time Concert in Almaty, in which Hong Kong and Kazakhstani musicians play side by side. It is also a reflection of the composer’s, who has mixed heritage and upbringing, long-time ambition to connect the people of Eurasia and their cultures through her music. The major artistic goal in this piece is to experiment with different methods of complimenting traditional Kazakh with traditional Chinese musical instruments in mixing them together in harmonious unity.

The music of this picturesque piece includes references to different musical cultures of Eurasia and consists of distinctively contrasting sections vividly describing various moods and atmospheres. The narrative-like relaxing introduction of the piece written in the style of a simple and jolly Celtic dance. The music then builds up into a fast and highly rhythmical section showcasing a virtuosic display of all instruments used to describe horse-racing, a popular tradition in Central Asia. It follows by contrastingly slow, somber and stately episode, giving the listeners a feeling of being at an imperial palace in Japan. The final and the most dynamic and rhythmical part of the piece, displaying a selective instruments from both the Chinese and Kazakh ensembles, takes us to a vibrant and bustling Chinese city with parades of acrobatic and operatic performances. The epilogue brings people of all nationalities together in a final group dance through its virtuosic intense display of all instruments.
