"Melius Domos Et Horti"! Means: "Better Homes & Gardens"! Donner guitars cannot be beat in price, sound quality or paint job finish. Donner is the German word for "Thunder"! I set them up medium-high action with my preferred custom string gauges and am completely satisfied with these instruments. I've had custom built instruments for decades and owned, played, recorded and performed with many Stratocasters and guitars of all prices ranges and extremes. These guitars hands down are some of the best, and suits my aesthetic and sonic needs. I wanna be clear, I do like some single coil bridge pickups on various Strats US and import. But many just don't work for me tonally. These single coil pickups are not noiseless, but they are great with the best and highest output are on the DST-400. I use all 3 pickups with the tone and volume knobs regularly. My main sound is not heavily distorted and cleaner than most playing Metal or Shred, and I use a noise gate sometimes. Also when using the neck and middle pick ups together they act like double coils and cancel out noise. So I'm used to dealing with and controlling real single coils in various ways. The fret size on these electrics are more like the smaller vintage Fender frets, and not like the medium jumbos which many Stratocasters type guitars have trying to be more like Jackson, Charvel and other modern brands. There are the neck profile differences with 1 5/8 nut widths, but DST-400 has a fatter fuller neck, DST-152 & Q1 is a mid thickness feel, DST 100 is thinnest and a flatter radius than the 400, 152 or Q1. The tone and feel of each series is interesting with the different fretboard wood combinations of rosewood, laurel and purpleheart with alder and poplar bodies.

The classical guitar in the video is the DAC -112 with the 54mm nut width, online it's listed as DCG-1. Donner also offers a 52mm nut width classical guitar that I may check out. At these prices I personally think anyone professional and hobbyist should have one or a few as a main instrument or back up. The paint jobs on these electric and classical guitars are better than many I've seen at 2-3 times the cost.

The Better Homes & Gardens ribbons came from their kitchen hand towels at Walmart.
