Keep your bottom-loading water cooler sparkling clean and functioning perfectly! These coolers offer easy bottle changes and a sleek look, but cleaning the pump and reservoir is essential. This video and the steps below show you how to do it right.

Supplies:

Rubber gloves
Distilled white vinegar
Bleach (optional for sanitizing)
Soft cloth
Directions:

1) Mix the cleaning solution: In a medium bucket, combine 4 cups of distilled white vinegar with 12 cups of water and stir.
2) Power down: Turn off the unit using the power button(s) on the back. Unplug the water cooler.
3) Remove the bottle: Take the water bottle out of the bottom compartment.
4) Drain the cooler: Hold down both spigots to drain all water from the unit into a large bowl or pitcher.
5) Clean the pump: Place the bottom of the water pump (located in the bottom compartment) into the vinegar solution. Important: DO NOT add the vinegar solution to your 5-gallon bottle. This will contaminate the bottle.
6) Circulate and soak: Hold down the spigots and drain half of the cleaning solution into a bowl or pitcher. Let the remaining solution sit in the cooler for 30 minutes.
7) Rinse thoroughly: Drain the remaining cleaning solution. Repeat this process with fresh tap water several times to rinse the cooler completely.
8) Replace the bottle: Place a fresh 5-gallon bottle in the cabinet and install the water pump.
Prime the system: Drain one cup of water through each spigot to ensure the cooler is primed and ready to use.
9) Clean the condenser: Wipe the black wire and tube condenser on the back of the cooler with a soft cloth to remove dirt and dust.
10) Plug in: Plug the cooler back in.
11) Power on: Turn the unit on using the power button(s) on the back.
