Before Mariah Carey sang it, Phil Collins was the person who first performed the song 'Against All Odds (Take a look at me now) and also wrote the song, the song 'Againts All Odds' was also on the soundtrack of the 1984 film. Mariah Carey's version of 'Againts All Odds' was released on June 3, 2000 on the album Rainbow which was recorded by the Columbia Records label.
The single peaked at number two on the charts in the UK, peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, when it was first sung by Phil Collins.

Morissette, a singer from the Philippines, has performed this song, but the most famous was when Mariah Carey sang it again with Westlife, and it reached number one on the British charts in September 2000.
