Dasmariñas was named after Gómez Perez DASMARINAS. became the governor-general from 1593 to 1596. Pérez Dasmariñas came from San Miguel das Negradas of Viveiro, in Galicia, Spain

it was renamed to Perez-Dasmariñas in honor of the seventh Governor General of the Philippines, Don Gómez Pérez Dasmariñas (1590–1593).
