Subhas Chandra Bose was an Indian nationalist who led the Indian National Army (INA) in World War II. He was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa, India. He was educated at the Scottish Church College and the Presidency University in Calcutta. In 1919, he went to Cambridge University to study for the Indian Civil Service. However, after passing his exams, he decided to dedicate himself to the Indian nationalist movement instead.

In 1920, Bose joined the Indian National Congress (INC) and rose through the ranks. He was elected President of the INC in 1938 and 1939. As President, Bose advocated for a more militant approach to independence. He also opposed the INC's policy of non-violence.

In 1941, Bose escaped from India and traveled to Germany. He met with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi government, and they agreed to help him form the INA. The INA was a force of Indian soldiers who fought against the British in Southeast Asia.

In 1943, Bose led the INA in a campaign against the British in India. The campaign was unsuccessful, but it did help to raise awareness of the Indian independence movement.

Bose died in a plane crash in Taiwan in 1945. His death remains a mystery, and there are many theories about what happened to him.

Bose is considered a hero by many Indians. He is remembered for his courage, his leadership, and his commitment to Indian independence
