Do you have a great idea for an app but have no idea how to make one? In this tutorial series from CaisTec, I will take you through the entire process. No prior knowledge required, all you need is a computer, an internet connection and a mobile device.

In this series, I will teach you all the skills you need to make your very own high quality app. You'll make a GitHub account to store all your code, you'll use CodeSpaces to code your app. You'll also learn to set-up your mobile device to test your app as you make it.

You'll need to head over to github.com to make your account. Once you have made your account and your repository, you'll need to load up a CodeSpace. You'll need to enter the following commands:

npm install create-react-native-app

Create your app with:

npx create-react-native-app

Enter a name for your app (I recommend app1) then select a template. I recommended the tab-navigation one. Whilst it is generating, install the Expo Go app on your mobile device https://expo.dev/client .

Once it is generated, back on the terminal, move into the app directory with the command:

cd app1

Replace 'app1' with whatever you called your app. Start your app with the following command:

yarn start --tunnel

You should be given some options to install something, accept that and close the pop-up.

You should see a QR code pop up. Either scan it with the Expo Go app (Android) or scan it with your camera (iOS). After a short while, you should see a very basic app load on your phone. That's it!
