Patricia Leavy, Ph.D., is an award-winning scholar, bestselling author, and arts advocate. She was formerly Associate Professor of Sociology, Chairperson of Sociology & Criminology, and Founding Director of Gender Studies at Stonehill College. She has published over forty books, earning commercial and critical success in both nonfiction and fiction, and her work has been translated into many languages. Professor Leavy’s academic publications include Method Meets Art: Arts-Based Research Practice (3rd edition), Re/Invention: Methods of Social Fiction, Research Design (2nd edition), and The Handbook of Arts-Based Research. Most recently, her social fiction novel Hollyland was featured on She Reads “The Most Anticipated Romances of Spring 2023” and received several 2023 Firebird Book Awards including First Place for Summer/Beach Read and Pop Culture Fiction.
