Another experiment with my TCH Voicelive and OP-1 for this personal rendition of this incredible song by Laurel Near, Peter Ivers and David Lynch from the 1977 masterpiece Eraserhead.

About the noisey and spacey-ish organ sound: I previously recorded the chords and bass notes on my daw combining ten layers of different sounds (all from the OP-1) to obtain a custom patch to sample on the drum engine. Then I had to crop and edit the sample, I created various loops (trying to avoid those annoying clicks as much as possible) of the chords I needed to use, added a subtle lfo and played a lot with the CWO fx until I found the right amount of delay, feedback, modulation and stuff to smooth the sample retrig and create the illusion of sustained chords. I also put the spring reverb on the master fx to add a little bit of stereo crispiness.

On the TCH is simply a custom patch with a megaphone effect and delay.

Very little post production as always. I added a bit of iZotope vinilyzer and subtle saturation to increase the general lo-fi feel I needed.
