A diverse songwriter, Mathew Sydney's music is readily adaptable to rock, jazz, country and folk. His material weaves together the mystical, the humorous and the personal with pop-culture and metaphysical references. Influences include classic rock (The Beatles, Elton John, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac) indie artists (The New Pornographers, Uncle Tupelo) and contemporary pop (Maroon5, Rihanna, Katy Perry).

A dedicated supporter of his fellow independent artists, Sydney has served as producer and host of radio programs on Indie Florida, featuring music by and interviews with various artists. His live performances are often structured in a variety show format, creating a showcase for other talented artists as well as Sydney's original music.

Sydney's latest single "Justice League" is a celebration of the power of diversity and is part of a song-cycle that derives its themes from comic book superheroes. "Comic books are our modern mythology; superheroes reflect who we feel we are deep inside."

Sydney is currently working on 'Chosen,' a rock musical based on the long-suppressed story of the heroic love affair between David and Jonathan as related in the first and second Books of Samuel in the Old Testament.
