This OSA soccer training video is geared for soccer players 5-8 years old and their soccer coaches and parents. This video will help soccer coaches and parents coach soccer to their players. It of course can be applied to all ages.

Description:
There are many different ways to dribble a soccer ball. We are going to learn today how to dribble for speed with your laces.

Key Points:
1. Lock your ankle/Point Toe Down
2. Push ball forward with your laces (don't kick!)
3. Keep dribbling foot ahead of non dribbling foot

Equipment needed: 2 cones

Exercise Player Can Do:
Place a start cone and an end cone about 15 yards in front. Start by having player walk and do dribbling with laces technique down to second cone and back. Repeat 3-5 times or until player feels comfortable.

Once comfortable have player do exercise on a jog. Repeat 3-5 times or until player feels comfortable. Then increase speed to as fast as they can do.

What Player Could Be Doing Wrong:
If the ball is getting to far away from the player when they dribble this means they are kicking the ball, not pushing it forward.

If the player looks like they are going to stub their foot or trip at any moment and just aren't going as fast as you think they could it is because their non dribbling foot is to close to the ball. The ball should be out in front of the non dribbling foot to help with balance and making it easier to go faster.

Remember these exercises are to teach dribbling with your laces technique. There are multiple different dribbling styles, techniques and exercises you can practice.
