Hello everyone. My name is Troy Dyamond Wilson. I'm 23 years old and I'm an actor. This is a documentary video about making our new movie: Prodigal Monster

In the film, I play Joshua. A very troubled man who gets admitted to a psychiatric hospital, while at the same time, serving a prison sentence. Throughout the film, he struggles to find mental stability and begins a path of slow recovery from psychosis, caused by a lifetime of being addicted to alcohol and drugs; and many other forms of trauma.

While on that path, he befriends a mysterious man named Adam, after months of staying in that hospital and transferring to a rehabilitation ward, who introduces him to a range of therapeutic services such as raiki, aromatherapy, drama therapy etc. and has a reformed approach towards Joshua gaining his freedom. His personal reasons for helping Joshua might be deeper than anticipated.

As an actor and as a person with autism, I am very grateful, blessed and honored to be a part of a project that sends a message and is centered on mental health, however, not only does it show that but forgiveness, reconciliation and family. There is lack of support within our community. It affects our lives in general. For me, socially and at home as well. Joshua and I may come from different worlds but it was Jerome that helped me realise that still, we're much more alike than I thought, which I never did. Embodying this character was what helped me see how and why that is

We're currently still in production. But trust me, when this movie comes out, you will be inspired to learn to understand people like Joshua better, in order for the world to be better. Also, this documentary includes exclusive footage of the film, in small parts.
