This video was filmed back in September, and as I said in the intro, it was supposed to be the first video on this channel! But I ended up uploading some smaller hauls first instead. However this one was too good not to share - so many great larger size designs from the 1940s!

My name is Angela. I’m a seamstress and designer who primarily posts videos under the name Angela Costumery. However I recently started collecting and reselling vintage sewing patterns. Here I’ll be posting hauls of my finds - which come from etsy, eBay, estates, and the internet in general.

I have a preference for patterns from the 1940s and 1950s, but I’ll collect anything from the 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, and the 1960s too! I try to buy a variety of sizes and brands (mccalls, simplicity, vogue, hollywood, advance, etc.) to keep my shop filled with something for everyone.

I think it’s wonderful that a relatively fragile paper product that is decades old can maintain its functionality and be useful and inspiring to someone so many years after it was created. It’s one of the reasons I love working with vintage patterns - and one of the reasons I’ve come to love selling them, too.

I really enjoy the process of examining, and documenting the condition of vintage goods. Along with counting the pieces and describing their functionality. It’s quite therapeutic to me, and something I’ve come to view as a hobby. I enjoy the photographing and listing parts a little less, but I like knowing those steps will lead to a vintage pattern once again ending up in the hands of a creative individual with plans to construct it!

However by FAR my favorite part of the process is opening my new acquisitions for the first time and examining the designs in detail. This channel allows me to share that part of the process with all of you! I hope you’ll subscribe to see more hauls, and check out my shop linked above.

If you’re looking to sell a large quantity of vintage patterns as opposed to buying them, you can reach out to me at [email protected] and I might be interested!
