Shipping fragile or collectible items is always so nerve-racking! This is my favorite packing method that I use when I ship my Artist's Books, that can be easily adapted to fit various items. I learned this working at BookLab II, a limited-edition bindery, where we used this method for shipping books and archival boxes. The key is that the extra interior cardboard walls hold the book in place during all the commotion of transport. The 2 inches of bubble wrap all around the item applies even pressure to the interior walls, and leaves plenty of room in case of smooshed corners or punctures in the box. You can fit multiple books in a box; just make sure the books are similar in size and shape, and wrap individually in paper first to avoid rubbing against each other.

List of what you will need:
1. Sturdy box 4" larger than the length x width x height of the item you are shipping (so if your book is 8"x6"x2", your box will need to be at least 12"x10"x6".
2. Lots of bubble wrap. For this video, I used about 12"x15'
3. Newsprint, butcher paper, or any kind of smooth paper large enough for wrapping your item
4. Painter's Tape or similar to tape paper around item. The colored tape helps whoever is unwrapping it to keep track that it doesn't stick to the actual book and tear, and is less sticky if it happens anyway
