We all have experienced different communication access obstacles. For example, when we go to a hospital to get medical help, we may encounter unqualified interpreters, or being denied of an interpreter, and VRI when we don't know how to use it. Maybe at your workplace, you have periodical meetings and they won't provide an interpreter because they can't afford it, and you worry about the risk ofbeing fired if you push for having an interpreter. Or maybe you want to attend an event with other hearing people, and the hosting party will not pay for interpreter. They may neglect/reject you. We can overcome those obstacles. We can get our communication access. At the Deaf World and Interpreting spring conference, we will have NAD's CEO, Howard Rosenblum, to present about how we can advocate for our rights.
