NFPA 820 (Standard for Fire Protection in Wastewater Treatment and Collection Facilities) includes the hazard classification of specific areas and processes at wastewater treatment plants and its associated collection systems. This standard contains mandatory requirements that shall apply to all new installations. When additions or modifications are made to existing facilities, the modifications shall reflect the requirements of this standard.
