I ran out of camera space..... but I traded out my altra running shoes to Hoka shoes with a 5 drop instead of a zero drop to save my Achilles tendons. I still have my trekking poles which double as my only tent poles. I have a rain jacket and 2 smart water bottles, one liter each with a Sawyer Squeeze water filter. I threw out the bag that comes with it because it's cheap garbage and you don't need it. I have a fanny pack that I keep my knife, wallet, headphones and phone in as well as earplugs when I need to camp near anything remotely close to snoring. I still have 3 I Ching coins, and a few sacred objects that I carry. I have a lightweight collapsible cup, a spoon and a small featherweight trowel and tp for poop. I have a backpack cover for rain. i still have my z pacs umbrella and camp shoes which i strap on the outside of my pack. i carry a 4x8 foot sheet of tyvec for a ground cover. .... btw , REI allowed me to exchange at no cost these new shoes with my other shoes as they no longer fit. I went from a 10.5 to an 11 because my feet have swelled which happens to every thru hiker that I know. they also let me exchange my sleeping pad for a new one since I had to patch it on the fly after getting a tiny hole in it. I cannot say it enough... REI loves thru hikers. they take care of their customers with a 12 month return policy. become a member if you haven't already. that's all for now. happy trails. headed back to the AT in the morning. love, love, love.
