📖 Trophy Overview

This trophy is earned after you complete The Artifact and move on to the first major infestation purge on the mainland at Villa Kusi, marking the true beginning of the demonic outbreak in Solís.
Your objective is to completely eradicate the infestation by destroying all the red, pulsating growths and then eliminating the central source that sustains them.

🗺️ Mission Walkthrough

📍 Location: Villa Kusi, just west of where The Artifact ended

🔓 Unlocked After: Completing The Artifact

⚔️ Enemies: Demons and infested Black Hand units

🧩 Step 1: Destroy the Growths

Each infestation consists of several red, organic growths spread around the area.

You must destroy all growths before the central source becomes vulnerable.

Most infestations have four growths, though some later ones will have more or fewer.

Use any weapon, but the Demon Crossbow obtained in The Artifact is the most effective — it deals heavy damage to organic targets.

💥 Tip: Some growths are covered by fleshy pods that explode once enough damage is dealt. Keep your distance when finishing them off.

🧠 Step 2: Destroy the Source

Once all the growths are destroyed, the infestation source — a large demonic pod — will emerge. It’s protected by an armored shell with three segments:

Use your grapple hook to pull down one of the shell plates.

When the fleshy core and blue eyes are exposed, shoot them immediately.

Repeat this process for all three shell plates to destroy the core completely.

💀 Checkpoint Info: You’ll get a checkpoint after each growth destroyed, but not between phases of the source fight. If you die while fighting the source, you’ll restart from before that encounter.

🔥 Step 3: Survive the Battle

As the fight progresses, demonic tentacles and enemy vehicles may appear.

Ignore the Black Hand soldiers — they can’t meaningfully damage the infestation.

Some tentacles will grab Black Hand vehicles and hurl them at you — destroy them quickly if this happens.

💡 Weapon Loadout Recommendation:

🏹 Demon Crossbow: High damage to both demons and infestation growths.

🔫 Defender Machine Gun: Great backup weapon for crowd control due to its large magazine and steady rate of fire.

💣 Explosives (Grenade Launcher / Rocket Launcher): Useful for destroying vehicles and clustered demons.

🚫 Do Not Attempt: Flying an attack helicopter into the infestation. The spores and tentacles will destroy it almost instantly.

🧭 After Completing the Mission

Once Villa Kusi’s infestation is destroyed:

You’ll unlock six additional infestations across the map.

Each functions similarly, introducing new growth types and environmental hazards.

Completing all infestations is required to finish the DLC storyline and unlock subsequent missions.
