STORYLINE:
1. It has been reported that on November 8, giant pandas Mei Xiang, Tiantian and Xiaoqiji at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., departed for Chengdu, China. What is China's comment on this?

According to the cooperation agreement between China and the United States, the Mei Xiang family has returned to China as scheduled. We welcome the Mei Xiang family. Giant pandas are rare and endangered wild animals loved by people all over the world, and they are also messengers of friendship for cultural exchanges between China and the U.S.
China and the U.S. have carried out research cooperation on giant panda conservation since 1996, and our cooperation with the U.S. National Zoo in Washington, D.C., started in 2000. The two sides have established a good relationship of cooperation in giant panda conservation and breeding, and we have made achievements in disease prevention and control and diagnosis and treatment, public education and other aspects, which has played an important role in enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
After the return of the Mei Xiang family, there are still four pandas in the U.S., currently in Zoo Atlanta, and I believe that as messengers of friendship, they will continue to serve as a bridge of friendship between the two peoples. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with relevant countries, including the U.S., to make positive contributions to the protection of endangered species such as giant pandas.

2. It has been reported that China has suspended the import of koi from Japan since October because China has not renewed the quarantine permit for the import of Japanese koi fish that expired at the end of October. Is that decision related to the discharge of treated water from Japan?

China's position against the discharge of nuclear-contaminated water from Japan into the sea has been consistent and clear. As far as we know, China has not issued a document related to the suspension of the import of Japanese koi. Regarding the specific question, I refer you to competent authorities.

3. What’s your comment on the statement issued after the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting referring to the Palestinian-Israeli situation?

The G7 Foreign Ministers' statement contains long paragraphs on the Palestinian-Israeli situation, but it does not mention a ceasefire or the resumption of peace talks, nor does it mention the implementation of the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly as its emergency session or the need for responsible action by Security Council. This puts a big question mark over how exactly such a statement can help ease the situation and restore peace.
We hope that the G7 will uphold an objective and impartial position, respond to the strong call of the international community and take prompt real action to help stop the fighting, protect the civilians, implement the two-state solution and realize the right of the Palestinian people to survival, to statehood and to return to their homeland.

4.
