In a world where two of the biggest professional wrestling companies in the United States had folded and there was a level of interest in the independent circuit like never before, there were a plethora of wrestlers who stood out and made these smaller promotions must-see for any fan looking for a different flavor of the sport aside from what the then-World Wrestling Federation offered. During this time, we saw many young up-and-comers sprout from practically nowhere to grab the scene by the balls and re-define what independent wrestling was entering the new millennium. Of all the names we could cover, the two we will be focusing on today will be CM Punk and Chris Hero, more specifically their 92 minute, 15 second match which would become one of the longest matches in the history of pro wrestling.
