Hello #Chronostorians!, welcome to a Chronostore.com’s first luxury watch review of 2020. My name is Christian Taylor and today I’m here to tell you about a Rolex Day-Date 40. For those that may not know, the ‘40’ in its title refers to this model’s 40 mm 18CT white gold case, embedded with a fluted bezel around its very distinctive Olive Green dial that has roman-numeral indices atop it. As you can see here, even under some shade the color and texture stands out, but looking at it under more direct light, you can see its luster shine even greater. While the dial color alone adds a classy contrast to any attire, it also features a bespoke Day of the week DISPLAY at 12, marking one of many seemingly minor details that make this model exceptional.
Like its body, the numerals are crafted from 18CT white gold, but more impressive - and useful, it features a magnified date-window, utilizing the concept of less is more, setting a convex bubble on the sapphire crystal, conserving room on its dial. Along the very edge of it you’ll notice simple second integers made to accompany its sweeping second hand, and aside that, along the inner rim you can see the name “Rolex” engraved all around, which if you’re a watch-nerd, can give you a rough idea of when this model was made.

Accompanied by its “Presidential bracelet”, a classic style which had its debut in 1956, the watch is sought after by some of the world’s most dignified and distinguished. Complimenting the case that has an emblem-embedded screw-down crown on its side, the band embraces satin-brushed and high-polish finished links joined by a deployment clasp, all made to fit a 7.5 in. wrist.
