The DOT is pushing back some of the dates for the regulation changes, we'll talk about how this could affect you. We have a lengthy update on the upcoming DJI FPV Drone with our friend Haye from DroneXL.co. The Recreational Flyer Test (called TRUST) is right around the corner and we'll discuss the details. The Recreational UAS Safety Test
The FAA is currently looking for test administrator for its upcoming Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST for short).
The FAA is asking for anyone in the industry to help them provide the exam starting in June 1.
The test will be required for EVERYONE wanting to fly a UAS for recreational purposes.
The test will be conducted online and FREE and should be easy to take.
You will receive a certificate of completion at the end as proof of eligibility.
The goal is the test is to ensure people are properly trained on the basic regulation governing recreational flying.
This is a big deal and one of the last two items that the FAA was tasked with implementing with the FAA 2018 Reauthorization Act.
The last task will be to develop relationships with CBO the Community Based Organizations, to help create a set of safety guidelines to help recreational flyers operate safely.

Drone on Mars!
The Perseverance Rover landed on Mars on Thursday after 203 days in Space. It is designed to look for signs of ancient microbial life and collect samples.
The cool part is that it’s The rover is equipped with a UAS called Ingenuity, that’s designed to test powered flights on the red planet.
The challenge for the design team was to create enough lift in the Mars environment, where the air is a lot thinner than Earth.
The UAS motors spin between 2000-3000 RPM to create enough lift.
The aircraft is designed with 2 counter-rotating propellers sitting on top of each other.
The team plans for up to 5 autonomous flights over a 30 Marsian days window.
First flight: go up 10 feet and hover and land
Subsequent flights will go further from the takeoff point.
The idea is to collect flight data rather than images.
