In this video,Dr.Isacc Abbas has explained the science of how Consanguineous marriage would lead to thier babies to be born with congenital factors such as abnormalities in the heart, brain, blood cells,Bones and so on.
The nucleus of human cells contains 46 chromosomes. ( 44 autosomes and 2 chromosomes). Out of these 46, 23 come from the father and 23 from the mother. These chromosomes contain information about one’s skin tone, height, abilities, strength, bodily functions etc.
If one chromosome from the mother is defective, but the father would have a healthy chromosome, so, the chances of the child being born with a defect are very low.
But if the father is closely related to the mother, sharing same grandparents, then the chances of that defective Chromosome being present in the father are higher,which can negatively affect their baby.
So couples should consult with their doctor and opt for screening tests and check If any abnormalities are detected in a developing fetus.
