Internal fragmentation occurs during fixed size memory partition. after allocation of required space to process, remaining space in fixed size partition is known as internal fragmentation.

External fragmentation can occurs during memory allocation. when total memory size is enough to occupy but if it's not available in contiguous fashion then it is known as external fragmentation. contiguous memory allocation can be implemented using array and non contiguous memory allocation can be implemented using link list.

Memory management is one most common function of operating system.
Parameters affecting to memory are size of memory, time to access data from memory, cost of memory per unit.

Size of memory we should require more and more greater day by day.
we requires greater size of RAM as well as Hard disk.
Access of data from memory we should require very fast. Page hit ratio (Page Hit Latency) and page fault ratio (Page Miss Latency) plays key role here.
Cost of memory we should require affordable.
Memory management concept mostly requires to achieve above mentions goals related to parameters.

Memory management is one most common function of operating system.
Parameters affecting to memory are size of memory, time to access data from memory, cost of memory per unit.

Fixed size partition produce same size of memory block to process during memory partition. Variable size partitioning produce different size of memory blocks to processes while allocating the memory. During first fit techniques first hole of memory allocating to process. In best fit technique small size of memory hole is going to allocate which is better enough to fulfill process requirement. In worst fit method maximum size of memory hole is allocates to process.

CPU always generates logical address and data is actually available with physical address. so address translation is a concept in memory management requires to convert logical address of secondary memory into physical address of primary memory. Relocation register and limit register are used to carry out this task.

Paging is address translation in non contiguous memory allocation. Paging uses page table for address translation in memory management.

Basic knowledge of data and bandwidth requires to learn translation fundamentals while converting logical address to physical address. For data 1k=1024 and for bandwidth 1k=1000.

In space to address translation, it is going to be calculate how much addresses can be store at given data space. In address to space translation, it is going to be calculate how much space require to store for given addresses.
