Shot the 2022 IDPA Florida State Championship on Sunday 1/16/22. Anyone who shot the match knows Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day while Sunday was rain for most of the match. Video is in stage order, not how the squad I was in shot it. We shot stage 13 first at stage 8, then stage 8. The recordings are from stage 9-12, then 1-7. My sister and brother-in-law did the recordings, was able to split screen some of the stages.

0:00 -Stage 1. I totally screwed up here, forgot to bring my spare mags…so boom…43 pts down just like that. PD=43

0:34 -Stage 2. PD=1

0:56 -Stage 3. Malfunctions started. PD=2

1:36 -Stage 4. Malfunctions continuing. If you couldn’t tell by my leisurely pace, zero fucks given for the rest of that stage. PD=3

2:09 -Stage 5. Overall not bad with another malfunction. PD=2

2:32 -Stage 6. Second to last stage of the match, goal was to get a zero down, so I took my time. Still had 1 down on the drop turner even though I put four shots on it. Hey, no malfunctions on that stage! PD=1

3:01 -Stage 7. Last stage of the match, sun started coming out, was very happy it was almost over so I went almost full speed (for me anyway) and got that zero down (had zero down on stage 13) with one last crap timed malfunction on the last shot of the stage/match. PD=0

3:30 -Stage 9. PD=5

3:50 -Stage 10. PD=2 + 1 hit on a non-threat.

4:10 -Stage 11. PD=2

4:33 -Stage 12. Mud sucked my left shoe right off! Now it’s a party! PD=1

Practiscore shows 250 shooters scored (15 of those are DQs) while the match breakdown lists 283 shooters. I came in a pathetic 89th overall, 47th in CO. Obviously, the 43 down on stage 1 was the main reason for that placing. Total rookie mistake. Next, the multiple malfunctions played a role as well. The rain causing muddy conditions fouled up my mags even though I thought I was doing a good job wiping them off. I never shot a match in the rain before and I’ll bring a compressed air can next time and I will be double checking that I have my spare mags with me when walking up to the starting position. Cheers!
