Sunscreen Film Fest Teams Up with Winter the Dolphin
Sunscreen partners with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for a Marine Science Film Camp.

(TAMPA BAY, FL,) August 20, 2013- Kids, dolphins, sea turtles, otters, marine science and movies. The Sunscreen Film Festival, and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium are partnering up to bring all these elements together in a 6 week film camp.

The Sunscreen Film Festival will host a documentary film camp over the course of 6 Saturdays starting this October for young filmmakers at the CMA. The camp will focus on marine science issues and film. Students will learn about topics affecting marine life and ecosystems along the gulf coast region. The students will create documentaries to share their experiences.

The CMA is of course most well-known for its resident film star Winter the Dolphin. The subject of the film Dolphin Tale and the upcoming Dolphin Tale 2, Winter has become an internationally recognized symbol for marine life rescue and rehabilitation. She has also become an inspirational figure for kids and adults alike. www.seewinter.com

With the CMA as a backdrop for the film camp, students will learn about marine science topics, interact with animals and resources at the aquarium, learn from guest lecturers, and through hands on training, create impactful documentaries using their own talents and visions to bring pressing topics to life.

Sunscreen Executive Director Tony Armer commented, "this was a natural partnership building on our current film camps, film institute and community outreach, it's really exciting stuff for Sunscreen, the CMA, Chart 411 and the community".

A reception and public screening of the four short documentaries produced at the camp will be held on December 21st, 2013. Location TBD.
