In 2018, the Apex Court in the case of Swapnil Tripathi v. Supreme Court of India, allowed the live streaming of court hearings after a PIL was filed seeking more transparency. Court held that “It is important to re-emphasise the significance of live-streaming as an extension of the principle of open justice and open courts.”

However, with these sensational headlines being circulated, one wonders if live streaming is serving the intended purpose or not?

“Sunlight is the best disinfectant” noted the court in the same judgment. But with these clickbait and out of context titles, are the skies getting cloudy again?
