Powermatic - Glow-wire Flammability Test

Powermatic Intelligent Extension goes through various test to ensure its quality of every batch, and assures that all the material being used is of high quality. This test is one of the many test and it measures if the body being tested is non-flammable, as it lets a 750C rod enter the body of the extension.

According to; IEC Glow-wire flammability index GWFI
In accordance with IEC 60695-2-12 standards, the GWFI is expressed as the highest test temperature during three subsequent tests for a test specimen of a given thickness, at which one of the following conditions is met;
1. Flames or glowing of the test specimen extinguish within 30 s after removal of the glow-wire, and there is no ignition of the wrapping tissue placed underneath the test specimen.
2. There is no ignition of the test specimen.
