Documentary: 60 years of Sri Lanka in the UN

The United Nations was established on 24 October 1945. While the year 2015 marks 70 years since the establishment of the UN, it also marks 60 years since Sri Lanka became a Member State of the UN on 14 December 1955.

In celebrating these twin anniversaries, the United Nations with the Government of Sri Lanka, jointly launched a media and communications outreach campaign titled, ‘Our UN. Apey UN. Engal UN’ .

The 70-60 campaign aims to increase public awareness of the long-standing, mutually-beneficial Sri Lanka-UN partnership.

This video documentary, launched on the 70th UN Day celebrations in Colombo, features the highlights of the Sri Lanka-UN Partnership.

The documentary was produced by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation in partnership with the Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media.
