Today, we take another look at the horizontal long Langstroth hive. We are going to inspect the hive to verify a laying queen and check the green drone frame and see if they are using it for drones.
We will also be conducting a mite check using the powdered sugar shake method. The shake or roll coats the bees with powdered sugar, which causes the mites to dislodge and fall into the collection bowl.
