Blackrock station is the oldest surviving station building in the country the station opened on December 17th 1834 the station has going thru numerous changes since it opened in recent decades the platforms were extended and in the early 1980's the station underwent DART construction works with the platforms rebuilt and the footbridge replaced . once upon a time the Baths were adjecent to the stations but closed in the late 1980's
