How do you read a poem? Read the poem first aloud to get a feel for the poem and the way it flows. Next, read the poem again and think about the words in each line. Don't worry about being right. Just decide for yourself what the images remind you of and what role the words serve for the audience.

I've modeled my thinking process for you in this video. I'm not done interpreting the poem but I have come up with the ideas I'd like to explore as I read the poem once more.
