I had 38g of cotton yarn left over from another project that I wasn't going to use. The colourway was very light lilac and white, making it a good base to overdye. I chose blue violet fibre reactive dye from Dharma because it breaks beautifully and I wanted to capture some of that breaking on the yarn. I left the yarn in a ball and left it in liquid dye for a couple of days. I did this in the hope that how the yarn was wound would create some natural resists.

Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.
