Devastating Earthquakes Damage Turkey's Tourist City Antakya | Turkey Earthquake Live Updates

Türkiye's tourist city Antakya suffered widespread damages in Monday’s devastating earthquakes as many ancient buildings collapsed and major downtown district ruined.

Antakya, known as Antioch in ancient times as a hub of civilization, commerce and religion for Christians in particular, is a city in Hatay Province, one of the country's worst-hit regions by the earthquakes.

A huge 7.7-magnitude quake hit southern Türkiye's Kahramanmaras Province near the Syrian border in the early hours of Monday, followed by another of similar strength later that afternoon, with dozens of aftershocks continuing throughout the day.
