Ketamine is a fast-acting antidepressant that works in a completely different way from traditional antidepressants like SSRIs or SNRIs. It has shown rapid and significant effects in patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and suicidal ideation, often within hours of administration.

Glutamate Modulation:Ketamine is an NMDA receptor antagonist, meaning it blocks a specific receptor of the neurotransmitter glutamate, which plays a key role in mood regulation, neuroplasticity, and synaptic function.
