Common Sense PD: Developing a Student Team of Technology Leaders

Описание к видео Common Sense PD: Developing a Student Team of Technology Leaders

How can we elevate student voices by building a student team of technology leaders? Join Leslie Leisey and Sharron Wooden from Fairfax County Public Schools as they share how they organized The Paw Tech Squad, a group of students in grades 4 - 6 at their elementary school. Learn how these student leaders are role models for digital citizenship and support the students and staff with their technology needs, by creating how-to guides, leading lessons in classrooms, and providing training for teachers.

QUICK TAKEAWAYS AND RESOURCES

1. Start small. We started with six students and now we’re up to 40. See our journey here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/...

2. Elevate student voices. The purpose of the Tech Squad is to give students an opportunity to lead.

3. Let go. It’s OK to let go of some of the control—your students are capable of so much!
