Asymmetric supercapacitor which is a hybrid energy storage device that uses two different electrode materials and electrochemical processes to achieve a wider operating voltage and higher energy density compared to symmetric supercapacitors.

Applications
Asymmetric supercapacitors are being developed for various high-performance energy storage applications, including: 
• Electronics: Powering devices that require both high energy and high power, such as electric vehicles and other sustainable energy systems. 
• Flexible Devices: The development of flexible asymmetric supercapacitors demonstrates their potential for wearable electronics and other applications requiring mechanical stability. 

It combines electric double-layer capacitance (EDLC) on one electrode with pseudocapacitance (battery-type) on the other, resulting in a unique device that blends the high power of supercapacitors with the high energy storage of batteries. 


asymmetric supercapacitors have two different electrodes. 

Typically uses a capacitive material like activated carbon that stores energy through the accumulation of ions on its large surface area.

Pseudocapacitive Electrode: Often employs a battery-type material, such as metal oxides here I have used tungestan or conducting polymers, which stores energy via fast, reversible faradaic (battery-like) redox reactions. 

In the aspect of Electrolyte, the Advanced electrolytes, like solid-state or water-in-salt electrolytes, are used to support the wider potential window and enhance the stability and performance of the device. 
Advantages are:
• Increased Energy Density: By utilizing both EDLC and pseudocapacitive mechanisms, asymmetric supercapacitors achieve higher energy storage capabilities than traditional symmetric supercapacitors. 
• Wider Operating Voltage: The combination of different electrode materials with different potential windows enables a wider operating voltage range, increasing the total energy that can be stored. 
• High Power Density: They retain the high power delivery and rapid charge-discharge capabilities characteristic of supercapacitors. 
• Improved Cyclability: Careful selection of materials and electrode fabrication can lead to excellent cycling stability and long lifetimes.
