The vacation is slowly coming to an end. The maximum readings on the thermometer apparently are not; today they were always above 30 degrees, reaching a maximum of 36. Since we were supposed to drive just under 210 km today according to our calculations, we took our time setting off. First, we enjoyed the hearty breakfast in Olomouc. After just under 3 km, we encountered the first construction site of the day, which forced us to take quite a detour.
The area and the roads were great. There was little traffic, and we made good progress. Until the next roadblock. This time, all available authorities and the fire department were mobilized. Fritze only needed a few seconds to find the alternative route through the village on the GPS.
Back on the main road, even more cops. We turned left, seemingly not a minute too late. The road went uphill and into a forest, which could easily have passed for something out of Lord of the Rings.
People sat on the left and right sides of the street, "is there a bike race happening here?" Yep! The first advertising balloons the size of small cars stood by the roadside.
Racing cyclists came towards us or rode uphill like us. We felt like the escort motorcycles at the Tour de France.
At the top, we could see the line of the mountain stage. Downhill! Fully packed parking lots, more people. After 10 km, the hustle and bustle was over.

In the last 2 km, it got really steep again, and the finish line was reached. Evening program as usual: the best shower ever, drinks, more drinks, and then tackle the menu.

Der Urlaub neigt sich langsam dem Ende entgegen. Die Maximalwerte des Thermometers scheinbar nicht, heute waren es immer über 30 Grad, maximal 36.

Da wir heute gerechnet knapp 210 km fahren sollten, ließen wir uns Zeit mit dem Losfahren. Erst mal das reichhaltige Frühstück in Olmütz genießen. Nach knapp 3 km kam die erste Baustelle des Tages, die uns einen ziemlichen Kreis drum rum fahren ließ. Die Gegend und die Straßen waren klasse. Wenig Verkehr und wir kamen gut voran.

Bis zur nächsten Sperre. Diesmal war alles an Ordnungskräften und Feuerwehr aufgeboten, was greifbar war. Fritze brauchte nur wenige Sekunden um die Alternativroute durchs Dorf auf den Navi zu ermitteln. Wieder auf der Hauptstraße, noch mehr Cops. Wir bogen links ab, scheinbar keine Minute zu spät. Es ging aufwärts und in einen Wald, der wäre glatt bei Herr der Ringe durch gegangen.

Links und rechts der Straße saßen Leute, „findet hier ein Radrennen statt?“. Jepp ! Erste Werbeballons in der Größe von Kleinwagen standen am Wegesrand.
Es kamen uns Rennradfahrer entgegen oder fuhren wie wir bergan. Wir kamen uns vor wie die Begleitmopeds bei der Tour de France.
Oben angekommen konnten wir den Strich der Bergwertung erkennen. Abwärts ! Volle Parkplätze, mehr Leute. Nach 10km war’s vorbei mit dem Trubel.

Auf den letzten 2 km ging’s noch mal richtig steil rauf und das Ziel war erreicht. Abendprogramm wie üblich, die beste Dusche aller Zeiten, was trinken, noch mehr trinken und dann ran an die Speisekarte.
