A local hidden gem, the national trust area at the top of Ringstead Bay is a magnificent place to while away a relaxing afternoon with panoramic views over the water towards Weymouth and Portland. You can park for free and sit happily among the grazing sheep to enjoy a summer picnic with enough space that it never feels busy. This area boasts some of the most picture postcard views in Dorset. The coastal breeze allows for excellent kite flying and paragliding and if you want to stretch your legs you can take a stroll along the Jurassic coast or down to Ringstead beach. Here you will find sand and pebble beaches and a sheltered swimming area with crystal clear waters and a handy cafe shop. Because of its hidden nature down a dead end turn as you drive through the small town of Osmington, it never attracts a large crowd even in the height of summer and often you feel as if you have the whole place to yourselves.
