I performed Chichina on my YouTube channel about 7 years ago, however my audio quality was dated and not up to my current standard. I've been on a quest to redo the songs that inspire me to play guitar, and Gustavo Santaolalla's Chichina is one of them.

In The Motorcycle Diaries, Chichina is Ernesto's girlfriend -- who he describes as having a narcotic allure. Unlike Ernesto, she is committed to a more conventional, upper middle class lifestyle. Eventually they part ways.

Chichina clarifies Ernesto's belief system, as he must forgo a beautiful, seductive girlfriend that offers him essentially the perfect (but conventional) life.
