Ashy Prinia is a tiny bird who calls continuously. This bird can be commonly seen in urban garden and open shrub lands, lake edges etc. They have loud shrill noice and they tick their tail constantly when making the sound. This is a video of ashy prinia bird making continuous calling sound to tell his territory and call his mate.

Like most warblers, the ashy prinia is insectivorous. The song is a repetitive tchup, tchup, tchup or zeet-zeet-zeet. Another call is a nasal tee-tee-tee. It also makes a sound like "electric sparks" during its fluttery flight, which is thought to be produced by the wings .

Bird voices is a series where we are planning to capture sounds / calls of Indian birds. While we are doing the "Indian bird sounds series" separately , we are doing this to give more extensive coverage of the bird's call. In many cases birds have multiple and lengthy calls and we are planning to feature all that in this series.

While bird sounds can be found online , it is only the audio version of it and that too not in proper sound quality. We decided to do an audio cum visual version of it with better imaging and sound. The visual of the bird calling from a tree is a treat to the eye. Most time they accompany the sound with unique body movements and sometimes even a dance. All of this is not captured when you listen to the sound alone. With the image of the bird making the call , the sound is etched in our memory even more easily. We will update the voices on a regular basis with some rare calls included.
