The Groove stove is an ingenious idea that LittleBitWorks invented.
Using the small grooves to force the vaporizing alcohol up makes a stable strong flame.
Depending on the height of the pot stand you can achieve a very hot flame with the stand about 1.5 to 2 inches above the flame or a very light easy to simmer flame with the stand about .5 inches to 1 inch above the flame. In this video the pot stand for both stoves is exactly 1 inch above the flame.
The Open Jet stove has always been a super stove and still one of favorite Go-To stoves. Its easy to make and with a still wool wick inside it blooms fast and the flame is always stable without and fluttering. Then, the Elbow stand is another great idea from LittleBitWorks ingenious ideas. I need to figure a way to break it down faster and if so this an awesome pot stand. BoilOn!
