Artifact 3364 – The Heavy Uploads and the Weight of One Missed Day
March 18, 2025 | 10:25 PM
Uploading My Life—One Gigabyte at a Time
Tonight, I want to talk about two things that happened recently.
First off—YouTube.
So, I’ve been uploading my Artifact episodes—what you're listening to right now—on YouTube.
Uploading audio episodes? Easy.
But video episodes? That’s where things get tough.
Each video file is around 1 to 3 GB in size.
And guess what?
I’ve got around 128 to 150 files—so we’re talking about 200 GB of data to upload.
Even though I’ve compressed and encoded these videos as much as I can, it’s still massive.
I’m using my POCO X7 5G phone, which thankfully gives me about 15 to 20 GB upload per day.
But it’s slow. Not because of bad speed—just sheer volume.
And while uploading, I can't really do anything else on my phone. No YouTube, no distractions—just uploading memories into the cloud.
It’s exhausting, but necessary. This archive needs to live online.
The Cost of Pushing Too Hard
Now onto the second thing…
A couple of days ago, I made a decision:
"Let’s increase my daily run time."
For 3 years straight, I’ve been running 30 minutes every single day.
That routine became second nature. No pain, no fatigue—it just felt normal.
So I pushed further.
Started running 31 minutes, then 32, 33, and last night—34 minutes.
During the run, I felt fine. Like, totally manageable.
But the moment I got home…
Pain. Weakness.
And the worst part? I couldn’t do any of my creative work.
I was too tired, too drained to function.
Yesterday’s Missed Work is Today’s Burden
Because of that fatigue, I missed a deadline.
I have a simple rule:
“Upload two designs per day.”
Yesterday? I only managed one. Couldn’t finish editing the second one.
And that delay has rolled over into today.
So now, I’ve uploaded yesterday’s second design, but today’s second design?
Still pending. All I’ve done is click the photo. No edits. No final touches. Nothing.
If I don’t finish it today, I’ll fall into a loop—uploading just one design a day.
And that’s not the plan.
So tonight, no matter what—even if it’s 1 AM or 2 AM—I’m finishing it.
When Life Crowds the Clock
The design itself isn’t even that hard. I can execute it quickly.
The real problem?
Time. Distractions. Life.
Between household work and other responsibilities, I didn’t even start working until 11:30 or 12:00 PM.
That’s late.
Usually, I begin by 9:30 or 10:00 PM, which gives me enough breathing room.
And tomorrow looks just as packed—more housework, more distractions.
But the schedule is clear in my head:
Two designs per day. No excuses.
Don’t Forget the Insta Stories
On top of all this, there’s one more task I can’t ignore:
Posting Instagram Stories.
I already have the content ready—I just need to upload it.
But here’s the catch: Instagram only lets you schedule stories up to a month in advance.
So if today is March 18, I need to have stories ready until April 18.
Otherwise, after that, I can’t post.
There’s a deadline hiding inside another deadline.
No Questions Tonight—Just Work
With all this on my plate, I’m not even in the headspace to explore questions or dive deep tonight.
I’ve got work to do, and that’s all that matters.
This was Artifact 3364.
Thanks for listening.
