This video demonstrates how to hold up to four weapons in Halo 2. Back when I played this game over XBL I was one of the few to know about this glitch. Even now I am unable to find a single other tutorial on how it's done. Watch carefully the button combination used. To do this correctly be sure to hold Y and L for as long as shown and to the rhythm of the sounds my controller made while executing it. This is a legitimate glitch that will work on/off host in any multiplayer game, as well as in Campaign.

Requirements:

• At most one non-dual-wieldable gun allowed
• If a non-dual-wieldable is kept start with that weapon drawn
• One grenade to tri-wield and another to quad-wield
• Must be standing over dual-wieldable weapon

While quad-wielding stand over a dual-wieldable gun (with one drawn) while holding Y, and repeatedly tap L (grenade) for a funky surprise.

There are a multitude of processes being engaged all in a very short time, some of which are used to intercept the other processes. These processes are:

• Switching weapons (tapping Y)
• Tossing a grenade (tapping L)
• Picking up a new gun and then forcing it to be dual-wielded (holding Y)

Now we know that when you stand over a dual-wieldable gun and hold Y, we are telling the game to dual-wield that gun with the weapon you currently have loaded. The dual-wielding process performs two back-to-back steps. It first adds a gun to your inventory, and then forces it to be dual-wielded. The glitch shown in this video allows you to perform the first step and bypass the second. Read on...

The first button you press is Y, which changes your weapon to a dual-wieldable gun. Before the weapon switching process is completed you hold Y, effectively telling the game to pick up a new gun. Now having thrown a grenade immediately after initiating the dual-wielding process, the game intercepts the dual-wielding process momentarily and focuses strictly on tossing the grenade. Before allowing the dual-wielding process to complete (i.e. having you hold two guns out at once), you quickly double tap Y, thus cycling directly past both weapons in the dual-wieldable pair. Between switching weapons from the beginning and intercepting the dual-wielding process with a grenade toss, and finally cycling past the dual-wieldable guns, you bypass the dual-wielding process and instead simply add the gun to your inventory as a 3rd or 4th weapon.
