Left Activist Hacked To Death In Kerala; Rift Between Left & RSS Worker Led To Attack

A Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) activist was hacked to death in Punnol near New Mahe in Thalassery in the early hours of Monday, February 21. Haridas, the deceased fisherman, was returning from work at around 1 am on Monday when he was attacked.

Haridas was attacked by a group who arrived on two bikes. His brother, who tried to block the attack, was injured and has been hospitalised. Allegedly, a rift between CPI(M) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers over a local temple festival led to the attack and murder.
