We're in the southern most part of Transylvania. Brasov, Bran, and Râșnov are the locations we visit in this video. While our first stop was Bran Castle, we ended up leaving Bran rather quickly to go to Rasov where we found a great little beer garden that was barbecuing up some sausages. Beer and sausage beats any sort of tourist attraction. Dracula would agree if his diet wasn't so regimented.

The next day we hiked in Poiana Brașov, a ski resort that turns into just a nice hill for hiking in the summer. From there, we got amazing views across the Carpathian mountains. We had lunch on the hill and hiked back down to the town where we had coffee and a local specialty. Kurtoszkalacz is chimney cake, a pastry that's wrapped around a wooden pole and grilled over coals. It's covered in sugar and cinnamon, sometimes nuts, sprinkles, or even chocolate. It's a tasty treat that goes great with a cup of coffee.

The next day, we explored Brasov, one of the best cities in Transylvania. The old town is beautiful, with a huge church that's known as the black church. The name comes from the fact that the church is stained black from a fire that ravaged the town.

Of course, we can't go to Transylvania without poking a bit of fun. What do you think of when I say Transylvania?
