Origin:
External Occipital Protuberance and the Medial 1/3 of the Superior Nuchal Line of the Occipital Bone, from the Ligamentum Nuchae, and the Spinous Process of C7

Insertion:
Lateral 1/3 of the Clavicle; and Acromion of the Scapula

Functions:
1- Elevation of the Scapula @ the ScC Joint [Upper]
2- Retraction of the Scapula @ the ScC Joint [Upper]
3- Upward Rotation of the Scapula @ the ScC Joint [Upper]
4- Retraction of the Scapula @ the ScC Joint [Middle]
5- Depression of the Scapula @ the ScC Joint [Lower]
6- Extension of the Head and Neck @ the Spinal Joints [Upper]
7- Contralateral Rotation of the Head and Neck @ the Spinal Joints [Upper]
8- Lateral Flexion of the Head and Neck @ the Spinal Joints [Upper]
